I call this a Volcano Vase, just because it looks like a volcano to me. It is unsigned and, feels to me like a mass produced piece as opposed to a one off from a glass artist, but the grind where a pontil was removed (?) is a bit uneven, so maybe a one off. Bottom has been ground a bit to flatten it and polished. 8.5"hx6.25"lx4"w. Not much else I can say about it. Might be Italian... I like it, though, and keep it on my desk as a pen/pencil holder. I live near Illinois State University, which has a pretty good art glass program, so it could be a student piece. Any comments appreciated!

Very much like one I shared a year ago.
I’m hoping I can share it with this link...

I do see the similarities between the two pieces. Thanks for responding and linking the earlier post. Where did you find your piece? I found mine in a thrift shop, in Central Illinois, probably Bloomington or Normal, IL.

      Thinking this is probably Chinese...

Thanks Jenni, Kevin, sklo42, blunderbuss2, aura, Karenoke, fortapache and Anik!
