      Ahh the worm saw .... I have one somewhere ...lol I love just to turn it on and feel the power kick it to one side when you first start it up...Cut many sheets of plywood and cut many stair treads with the worm ....lol nice post..great saw last a life time for most..later

      This must be a very early worm drive ? I do not think these are cheap.

      just think about this, the 10 inch one sold for 195.00 in 1930 this was a very huge investment..I remember and old carpenter I would sub out to,, from timer to time his farther had a carpentry business...back then,.. the old fella would borrow my wormdrive when ever he was doing stairs //// anyways he and his brother asked there dad to by the wormdrive saw ....he said in a pigs ass, you have all kinds of the best hand saws I've bought you just shut your mouths and get back to work.....lol yip a lot of money back then....
      In 1930 the average income per year was $1,970.00 and by 1939 was $1,730.00.
      In 1930 a gallon of gas was 10 cents and by 1939 was 10 cents.
      In 1930 the average cost of new car was $640.00 and by 1939 was $700.00
