My mother in law was given this basket by an elderly friend. The friend said she bought it from a woman on an island off the coast of Savannah, Georgia. I assume this would have been in the 1950s or 60s.

The dates could be right, and it could have been purchased anywhere, but it was made in southern Arizona. This is a Papago (now called Tohono O'odham) basket, made from yucca and devil's claw.
