So I've been calling this little guy a Russian though I have no clue who or what he really is, just the style of painting and costume made me think possibly from Russia. He's a wee fellow with a large pipe, 2 3/4", made of wood, painted, may have had arms at one point, paint is worn there on the sides where they would have been attached. Strange little metal base on the bottom, he swivels around in there. Perhaps this was at some time part of a mechanical display of some sort. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to share. Thanks for looking!

I think it may be a incense smoker . Does the piece come apart , the head perhaps ; should be a hole somewhere also for the smoke to escape .

Pat, I didn't see a hole. It doesn't come apart that I could see, I did try. I'll take another look. Thank you! :)
