I normally collect oil lamps but I couldn't pass up this buy today at auction. I paid less than 13 dollars for a box lot including these two pitchers, a duck decoy (still researching), a bacon press and a beautiful crystal pitcher. Being Czech I was interested that they were made in Czechoslovakia. I had seen something similar years ago and remembered that it was valuable. So I researched them and found them to be Ditmar Urbach from around 1937 according to an old catalog I'd seen. I've seen them sell for up to 235 dollars. I think I'm falling in love with them, though. Guess I've started a new collection.
Adorable duo, both pitchers so cheerfully colored
What a way to start on CW! Welcome.
Gotta say I am extremely envious of your buy. These are popular because they are simply fantastic; design and make. I'm smiling just looking at them!
What a great find from an auction house!
I want this set so badly, it’s the best and def puts a smile on my face!
