Nanny Still designed the Ambra-series of art glass in 1960. Ambra was made of brown crystal with a cut bottom. There also exists a clear crystal version of Ambra and I had a chance to buy one, but it doesn't have the same feeling as brown crystal. Ambra is one of the few Nanny Still art glass pieces to have been selected to the collection of Victoria&Albert museum in London. This happened in 1962. Ambra glass pieces were also included in the V&A touring glass exhibition alongside top pieces from Timo Sarpaneva and Tapio Wirkkala.

A perfect case of less is more. She excelled at it.

Thanks for both of your comments. And racer4four, I agree and think that simple and elegant is always the hardest glass to make.
