This pendant and chain are Japanese made, but with Australian opals, probably from Coober Pedy. Marked Japan 925.
I like that the three vary in colour, from mainly blue to green added, then red added. Neat.
The setting is very 1960s I think, but I will wear this. The reddish opal has a fine crack in it, and I am going to oil it, a la Kyratango.

The kookaburra is one of many locals, but this youngster is quite friendly and visits us every day.
    Isn't she lovely!

Hi Karen, the pendant is very nice:-)
Your picture of the kookaburra is great and how lucky to have one visit you!
We hear lots of them here, but they don't visit....I love them...
We had a visitor not long ago, a Little Forest Bat! It was so tiny we thought it was just a baby, but found out that Tas only has tiny ones, not like the mainland ones at all....it was so cute!!

Beautiful fiery opals, I love the different sparkly colors and how well they complement each other - you will look great wearing them Karen. Your kookaburra is adorable, is it tame enough to feed it? I bet it comes close if you have breakfast outside

You have a beautiful friend, and so lucky to have so many opals to work with !~

MrsT, thank you. Our kookaburras are noisy at times, but wonderful anyway.

Judy, your little bat sounds wonderful. We only get flying foxes here, along with the multitude of other very noisy critters, including the kookies. This one is not quite adult and she lets us leave food out for her and will come within a metre. I don't feed her often, the wrong food makes them fat and unwell!

Thanks Ken, the necklace is quite lovely, and I do feed the kookaburra occasionally but it's not good for them to eat our food.

Hi Jenni! Thanks for the vote (sight unseen) that I will look good in the pendant, Maybe not look so good, but will feel good!
See my comments above regarding feeding our kookaburra.

Beautiful opals Karen! I love your little Kookaburra friend! We had a Goldfinch that would come sit in the seal of our window every evening for about a two week period, a few years back. We at first thought he simply liked seeing his reflection in the glass, but then we'd see his eyes following us as we moved thru the room.

Such a nice suite of opals Karen and each one unique. I love it when nature allows you to get just a bit closer. We have a flock of English sparrows that live in our dwarf Alberta spruce over the winter. You can get fairly close to them and they will listen when you talk to them, tilting their little heads to one side. I chastise them for doing their duty on my new car...it doesn't help....lol :)

Ooh Karen! I don't know which I love the most... those glowing opals or Miss Kookie showing her fluffy head and... opalized butt ;-))
      Lucky you!

A very fine bird. Did not know what a Kookaburra looked like. I hear they sit in old gum trees.

I didn't know what a kookaburra looked like either, but now I'm thinking of emigrating!

Yes, love your Kookaberra!!! This is very pretty too. Jewels lately huh? Sweet. These opals look like they may be from 3 different places, or at least 2, would that be correct? I thought Lightning Ridge for sure and called Black Opals. The one to the left looks different than the ones I've seen. Is that the Coober Pedy you are referring to? OOOH, and I see now that it's a pendant, you even said so. I don't know what gave me the idea it was a brooch??? My mind must be on your other jewelry post! haha
