My bachelor uncles Mustang. Purchased new in 1965 at Community Ford in Chicago,Il. He loved the Mustang when it 1st was sold in 64, but wanted a V8 auto so early on in 64 he ordered one. I don't know why he got the red interior, but the silver/gray colour is beautiful. He bought this car for one purpose, chasing women which he did. On summer nights in the town where we lived me and my friends would be hanging out and we would see my uncle on a Friday night cruising with a Blond and on Saturday with a Red headed lady in the car. But it was the car that was the love of his life the women came and went, but the car stayed. He never left this car parked on the street, or ate out where he couldn't see it. This was truly a relationship between man and machine that lasted for decades. Unfortunately as he got older, he developed a degenerative eye disease, and could no longer drive, so he would have me take him out for rides in his beloved Mustang. My most memorable experience was when he let me take my date to the prom in this car we cruised up, top down my date in a formal gown me in my tux I stoped in front of the hall where the prom was being held got out of the car walked to the other side and opened the door and escorted my date around the car and left her standing at the door while I drove the mustang across the street to the parking lot where my uncle had park my Mom's sedan, and was waiting to take his Mustang home to the safety of a garage. But being a man of his word he let me take my date to the prom in his Mustang.
