Victorian Canvas Covered Wicker Trunk. Couldn't pass it up either with an excellent original and complete interior. Leather corner caps. Both original handles. No maker name. Have some replacements straps already for over the top. With the last photo of a trunk is one that I am picking up Thursday which ( I HOPE ) should suffice very nicely for missing lock cover and strap leather work. I like to restore using actual period materials if possible. I believe Moynat of Paris was the original creator of the wicker trunks, to relieve travelers of excessive shipping weight charges.
Oh my...Beautiful !!
Very cool! I love wicker trunks and I have a couple n my collection. I restored an Irish made wicker trunk, very similar to this one, last year. Mine was missing the original tray though. I also restored an English made wicker trunk as well. I've included the links to those, in case you want to check them out. Great find!!!

jscott0363, Lol Thanks! Yours trunks I have been saved as inspiration. They came out exceptional, really nice job!!
Thanks!! antiquerose,
Thanks Im4anythingold!! I learned to stitch leather (watching YouTube videos) and that was the only way I could save my wicker trunks.
My father actually did leather craft for some years so I learned a lot of the basics cutting, sewing, edging, die, minor tooling, etc. The only things I will ever need for the amount of leather I would have to deal with in my life time I think.
Thanks to you all (5) others for the loves!!
