    Saw this for sale online, and was baffled as to what it is meant to represent.
    The intricate design has been painstakingly applied with a hot needle, and at first I thought it was meant to look like a shark's spine stick, but I don't think it's likely.
    The spider is a bronze casting, and if you look closely, it has something in its jaws,possibly a fly. I think this might be Japanese.
    Any ideas what the design could be, anyone?

      I think this design may be (appropriately enough) meant to look like a spider web.
