Finally the cold wet spring is hopefully over. Now the search begins again, last weekend I found this lil treasure in a local barn sale. The owner let this fan come home with me for a couple of bucks. Vornado electric fan model 16 C2-1. Stands about 12 " high and about a 7 " base. The fan needs a good cleaning and polishing and a little 20 weight oil. I plugged it in and it works great. Believe this one is from the early 1950s.
    Hope you enjoy!!!

This fan works great but I think it should be restored and cleaned. I've heard that it should not be operated with the old oil as it will ruin the motor. It's a great looking thing anyway.
Thanks for stopping by HO2 Cultcha and the love.

Don't sell it short clockerman -- unless its motor is obviously 'gummed up' (noticeably slow to start or quick to stop spinning when turned on/off) or even if so -- there's probably little you could do to truly "hurt" it. If it *does* show signs of sluggishness, WD-40 would be an easy choice for 'solvent' to help dissolve/clean away old oil/grunge from its bearings -- a good spritz or three of that (or a bath, or whatever until it loosens up) followed by a fresh dose of good quality lightweight machine oil will likely leave it ready to run strong for another 50+ yrs. GREAT FAN!!! :-) :-) :-)

And if it *is* truly still running free 'like new', all the *less* to worry about -- just give it a fresh dose of new (good) oil, and enjoy the refreshing breeze it generates!

      :-) :-) :-)

Thanks for the like, I was off working on these, for a while, getting back into it now. I'm about to receive another beast, 1-F-1, the big one pictured, and looking forward to getting it started once I get my overcrowded shop sorted out. Thanks again.
