French 1910 Cat Photograph On Board
I am definitely a dog person, but I could not resist this cat. Funny, as I am posting this I just realized that " Year Of The Cat" is playing (???)

No colour photos in 1910, and this does not look hand coloured. Hard to tell as its not perfectly clear but maybe it is sepia toned, as I only see brown tones.

I'm not a cat person either, but I too love this photo!

Phil D. Morris, It is sepia toned. I failed to put the measurements but it is very small.

Perfectly content kitty, to himself: "...and the silly human still thinks she's gonna put a flowerpot in this basket. We'll see about THAT..." <LOLOL>

Could not have said it better :)

Photochromes are as close as you get to coloured photos.
The cat even looks happy being a basket-case. Hah hah.

      SpiritBear,
Wonder if he/she was happy and for how long (?)
      Thank you :)

That's actually probably a very valid (and likely interesting?) question vintagelamp...nowadays 'kittypics' are instant, easy, and free -- but in 1910, such would CERTAINLY NOT have been the case...somebody in France would have had to originally spent some good time (and bucks?!) for that picture...it'd be fun to be able to find out the 'who/why'?! This must have been somebody's VERY SPECIAL feline friend???!!! :-) :-) :-)

Nice image! Cat photographs are very desirable and command good money-- especially those from the 19th century.
