Cotswold used to put on toy shows in the Southern California area. They specialized in GI Joe. Back then it was toy shows and mail order. Yes there was life before the net and eBay. It was right after the earth cooled. Anyway Cotswold moved up to an island in Oregon and were making replacement pieces for GI Joe. GI Joe pieces can be expensive so there was and is a big demand for replica equipment. I have a fair amount of their stuff even some resin pieces. One of the early pieces they made with high quality plastic was the Nambu pistol with which this figure is equipped. Eventually they started a line of complete figures called the "Elite Brigade".
OK I wrote I proper paragraph now the paragraph that says with background now for the figure description.
This is a WWII Japanese Officer. I believe it is an infantry lieutenant. That was not the safest job in the world at that time. He is armed with a samurai style sword and the Nambu pistol. He is supposed to have binoculars but I can live without those.
In the last photo he is with my Ultimate Soldier Japanese soldier. He can lead him and my other Japanese figures.
