Acoma J Chavez Tularosa Jar

This is the pot that started it all for me. My mom was given this jar in the 70’s by a woman from Acoma. It is signed J Chavez. From research I have done I believe the Potter was Jennie Chavez, noted as a Lay Potter recognized as excellent in 1974 in Ward Alan Minge’s Ácoma: Pueblo in the Sky. I have always liked looking at this pot, and I think it really influenced my aesthetic sensibility.
