I don't know anything about this chair. Can anyone shed any light?

I know that this rocking chair was my great grandfather's chair he passed away before I was born. The wood is in decent shape, there is a small carved decoration in the front of each handrail. It has two layers of upholstery. The bottom has Springs and what looks to me like maybe burlap straps and string and every bit of that is a knotted mess! Any information is welcome! I would love to know more about it. I would like to fix it myself if possible. Thank you
