I freely admit to being enthralled by any colour glass but if I see a good Hoya piece the lack of colour is no detriment at all.

This paperweight is beautifully and simply designed, has such amazing clarity, and is so perfectly ground. All hallmarks of Hoya.
Since they stopped making craft glass I think there has been a great hole left in the market that others can't fill.

Designed by the great Toshio Sugesawa it was made at the apogee of Hoya's creative production, 1990s.
Acid mark to the base: Hoya T.Sugasawa
    Height: 11.5cm

It's a pencil! Three of my favourite things combined in one cool item - glass, paperweights, & pencils! The shadow it casts is awesome, too...

Thanks Scott, it is unique! Sugasawa also designed some cool book shaped weights.

Jenni, it was a nice sunny day so I went outside. The camera does the rest . I will gladly take the kudos however! Thanks for loving the glass.

Rose it's about 600gm, which is significant for it's size. I guess it's all that lead.

      Indeed, and thanks Anik!

Thanks Peggy. I forgot to mention to everyone that the lead line is from internal refraction, not from an external cut, and it moves up and down the angle as you move close and away from the piece. So very clever.
