    Can anyone help me with the provenance this rocker which I acquired in Tromsø, Norway from a man who claimed he bought it in Newfoundland. But emigrants from Scotland or Ireland might have brought it with them?It is solid oak with decor which I would date to the early 1900s.

      Most rockers have greatly fallen out of favour. Is the back painted, as otherwise it looks more like newer construction.
