Autumn has finally arrived in Sydney...about 3 months late. The seasons are all awry, confused, & strange...so I put together a group of autumnal - hued glass to remind me of the days before the world went so wrong.
Not that we ever got much in the way of autumn colours here, for our Antipodean seasons are notoriously ill - defined. Let's just say it is too hot & humid most of the time. Winter is brief. Spring is lost to high winds that beat the blossom from the trees, before the heat charges back...
Autumns past from other times & places are represented here by Loetz, Welz, Harrach, & unknowns...

rockbat, our winter is fairly short, nothing much below 12 degrees Celsius or so in most of Sydney. Can be a bit colder in the outer suburbs, down to 0 degrees which is I think is 30 Fahrenheit. No snow at all. June - July is usually the wettest time of the year, but the last year has been very dry, & this year even worse. We are heading into a drought. By August it starts to warm up & gets very windy. Can get up to 30 degrees Celsius easily in August - September.
sklo42, yes that's another one...I had a basket in this same colour scheme long ago but was broken when my cat knocked it off a table...so was glad to find another example in this vase.
