I can't say I know what these (common) shrub bushes are called -- only that they are plentiful around here, and that this past week or so has been their annual 'season' to **SHOW OUT** -- not that their greenery or (thousands of teeny tiny white) flowers/blossoms are all that spectacular by themselves, but for the ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY AROMA which they broadcast all around while blooming. OH, how I wish it were possible to attach a 'scratch-n-sniff' to these pics, or even just to accurately describe (in words) the sweet fruity/flowery/perfumy smell which is also particularly 'carrying', though not overly 'strong'. All you really need is one of these to 'scent' an entire yard, but my whole neighborhood is full of em -- so no matter which way the breeze is blowing, it smells fresh and delicious. :-)

These are the (big!) ones in my own yard (right outside my bedroom window) so I've been enjoying their aroma wafting thru the windows with the night air for the last week or so, maybe with about another wk to come before they're through. (and by then it might be time to think about turning the a/c on anyway...?) Gotta tell y'all -- it's kinda impossible to *not* drift off to sleep with a smile when these bushes are in bloom...I hope all y'all enjoy the photos, if not 'a breath of fresh air' too...? ;-) ;-) :-) :-) :-)

for your <love its> and very kind comments!!

Kyra -- I truly hope the "virtual aroma" brought a smile to your face (everybody else too, of course?!) and MALKEY, I think I'd be even happier to have brightened your day if I'm understanding your story correctly...'medical facilities' of whatever sort tend to be SO lacking in things like lovely fragrant bushes to soothe their captives/victims/"patients"... :-(

Its gotten hot (pre-summer) here over last weekend and will stay so for the next few days (months?) when it might rain again, so the flowers/yard perfume is definitely on its way out until next year...still, I just cut on the 'whole house fan' a little while ago then was summarily bathed in a brand new (whole house full) wave of that lovely sweet smell, which continues to waft thru the house right now. :-) ;-) :-)
