Hi folks, in searching for info regarding this car, I found ya'll on Google...
I bought this awhile back in a small lot, and recently realized I've never seen another white on white one.
So, off to Google I go, and discover that all the 1968 '36 coupes had black roofs, and identifier bumps on the rumble seat,
and this car has neither.
I'm fairly new to collecting Hot Wheels/die cast cars, but have a fair eye for things that have been forged or restored.
This appears all original (not stripped & repainted), and I'm certain the paint is enamel, which I've been told was a thing they did with prototypes.
Any experts here that can verify?
Would be seriously stoked to learn that I have something rare and unusual
('cause my luck rarely runs that far ;) )
Cheers,
Jon
This is a prototype that has previously been undiscovered. There are other models that are in this same color that are also prototypes. This one is even more unusual in that it also has a white interior, which is scarce alone. This may be one of a kind. I'm somewhat elusive about the seat back though because those were always painted black, not the same color as the body of the car. If this is a true prototype then this would be worth thousands! Even if it isn't the original paint it is still an original car.
Fortapache is gonna love this
