Would anyone have any information on who made this basket? I purchased it in Wisconsin in about the 1980's. Maybe Indian artifact? If so what tribe? What is this type of basket called?

Based on the materials used, the form, the weaving technique, and the particular design used on the woven top band, this appears to be Asian, most likely from the Philippines.

The only thing I can tell you definitely, however, is that it is not Native American. No Native American Indian tribe used this combination of materials and techniques.
