The last couple of weeks have seen a plethora of divine new additions to my collection, & the lucky streak continues with this rainbow satin glass bowl by Harrach.
Made from two layers of cased glass, it has swirling, diagonal bands of pink, blue, & yellow overlaid with clear glass in a smooth satin finish (my other two pieces of Harrach rainbow glass are both glossy). With an almost "handkerchief" style lobed form, the bowl measures 9.5 cm tall, 11.8 cm across the neatly crimped top rim (the crimps are squarish, like a box pleat), & 6.5 cm across the base, which has a polished out pontil mark.
The bowl is decorated with enameled sprays of cherry blossom type flowers highlighted with gilding. The top rim also features gilding.
Congratulations on a Great Glass Find !!,!,!,!!
