This was found in the wild which is to say in a brick and mortar store and not eBay. Action Boy is very rarely found in the wild so this was a big find.
Captain Action was a figure that could be changed into various superheroes. Back then it was standard for the superheroes to have teen sidekick. Batman and Robin, Aquaman and Aqualad and Superman and Superboy were the three Ideal made in the Captain Action series. Superboy was actually Superman as a younger Superman, Jimmy Olsen was the actual youthful sidekick. I think everyone gets the idea. Captain Action was released in 1966 and Action Boy followed in 1968.
This Action Boy came fairly complete at least he had the main pieces, the bodysuit, belt, boomerang and boots. Luckily had the rest of the pieces from a reissue set which is the knife, panther and leash. He needs either a Robin or Superboy outfit.
In the meantime he swapped outfits with Steve Scout.
