Here is another brooch that I just recently bought. I thought this brooch was rather intriguing and was hoping to find out some more info about it. Anyone have any ideas about age or other info?

It reminds me of a Countess who got into sculpture. There were some photographs of her from around the 1850's, I will have to look and see if there is a resemblance.
Lovely lady in brooch painting & nice curved framing, it looks European
Phil, thanks, please let me know if you find anything-would be awesome to identify her!
It is very beautiful indeed!!!
Wow Mrstyndall, you have been finding some great pieces! Well done, I love this brooch:-)
Jenni, it does look European. Thanks for the kind comment
Ken, I thought so too. Thank you
It looks as if it's painted on some kind of stone-is it marble do you think, or faux marble. The clasp is quite an old one. (Maybe faux marble wasn't around when the brooch was made. Perhaps it's paper?)
Jscotto, thanks for the “beautiful” comment!
No. it appears not to be her. She does possibly appear to be wearing a wedding dress, but thats all I get from it now.
Tassie, thanks for the nice comment. I have been fortunate enough to have bought several jewelry lots lately that had some cool pieces in them.
Gillian, good question. Not sure if it painted on what you see on the back or if there is something else inside brooch. The back black part is some sort of metal. Hesitant about taking it apart.
Phil, thanks for checking ;)
Ms.Crystal, thank you so much-you are so knowledgeable about antique jewelry-I have lots to learn still :)
Thanks for the loves!
