Do you remember when we had to teach our children how to read a clock to know what time it is?
This is a teaching clock manufactured by Sheffield Watch Co. in West Germany named the Sheffield Time Reader.
The hour numbers in red with a corresponding red hour hand.
The minutes (5 PAST, 20 PAST, 25 TO, 10 TO) in black with a corresponding black minute hand with a circle to highlight the minutes.
It also relates to a popular American TV sitcom broadcast on CBS, The Family Affair, starring the brother & sister, 6-year old twins, Buffy & Jody. The Family Affair ran from September 12, 1966 to March 4, 1971. Relating this clock to these two famous child characters of this era, helped entice the children to want to learn how to tell time.
The clear back panel of the clock that exposed the mechanical pieces of this working clock, I'm sure was also intriguing to many children.
Thanks for checking out "Times From The Past",
