This looks like nice glass, at first glance, both pieces made with three piece molds. The smaller vase is about 5.5" tall and 3" in diameter, the larger vase is 7" tall and 4.5" in diameter. Both have a pattern of three "waves" around the bottom of the vase. Really clunky design, IMHO. No markings. It felt like Imperial to me when I first picked up the small vase, but the quality doesn't seem that high. Maybe a 60s or 70s piece, not American? Does anyone know who made these? I found the first one in May in Decatur, IL and the second one today, 1 October 2018, in Bloomington, IL. I put quite a bit of effort into trying to identify the maker when I found the first vase, but was not even able to one other image of the vase. It was quite a surprise when I found its big brother today. The taller vase is made of thinner glass than the smaller vase, which makes the blue look more blue and less purple. The details on the larger vase are also less precise than on the smaller vase. They remain a mystery, even though I spent more time today trying to identify the maker, or just find other examples.
Pretty cobalt blue
Thanks, Newfld! It is purty. It turned out that some of the roughness in the crimps of the flutes was grunge that would not come out with soap and water. I took some rubbing alcohol to it and it cleaned right up. Much smoother, now.
Thanks for the luvs aura and valentino97!
The plot thickens. Thanks for loving my cobalt vases!
