Discovered this rare Beranek in a box lot. It's mottled orange and cream cased in clear, with lots of tiny to medium sized bubbles. Almost looks like it has silver mica in it, but I believe it's the tiny bubbles giving that effect. Has a nicely polished pontil on the base, and the shape is spot on Beranek as shown in the included example, and confirmed with the Jugendstil glass group.
Fantastic find!

I love this piece..... I think it is worth mentioning that it is pretty early in the whole scheme of things for Beranek, being a 1945 production piece. This was the first design for 1945, which is the earliest year that there is any quantity of production line art known for. Also very difficult to find, in that most of their production was very frothy Pulegoso, as quality raw materials and heat sources were difficult to come by early on. A great piece for sure.
A Fabulous Find .... I’m reminded of the Krasno pieces of Emanuel B..
Yes, and Krasno is likely where Emanuel either developed or learned the Pulegoso techniques used so successfully in the early years of Beranek production.
Thanks gents! It's amazing what comes up and the history and research are all part of the passion. Love this hobby!
Fantastic triumph, Brian - you know how near and dear to my heart new discoveries are! Well done, sir :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR !,!,!
