This is a nice paperweight by a studio from my state, Illinois, Intaglio Levay. It measures 3.25" x 2.25" and weighs about 1.25 lbs. It is opalescent with pink threads of glass applied. It is marked on the bottom, Intaglio Anton, for Susan Anton Carr, the designer. The glass shop that made, or had it made, has an interesting history, which is detailed in the linked article. I had never heard of them before I found this paperweight today at an antique store. I didn't buy it right off, but came home to research it first and then sped back to the shop just before it closed.

I actually paid an antique shop price of $16 for it, which I seldom do. I was hooked by the beauty of the workmanship and the interesting history attached to it.
Very nice!

Thanks for taking a look at my Levay paperweight, Jerryboy!
I have over 200 of these paperweights. My mother was a glass blower at Intaglio years ago and recently passed away. We were just dumbfounded over what all she had. Please contact me if you'd like to talk about these. I'm very interested in more history about Intaglio Levay.
Thanks AnythingObscure!
