I could not help but to find it kinda ironic yesterday afternoon when sirbowmore showed pics of his shiny new German-made bowling pin -- apparently during the same exact period of time when I myself was visiting a local Goodwill Store, where I found *this* sitting on the shelf patiently waiting for me to pick it up and take it home... <LOL>
It is an "AMFLITE II PLASTIC COATED WIBC-ABC APPROVED CONTROL WEIGHT Made In U.S.A." pin, made by AMF. "PAT # 4 445 688" and the letters D", "TN", and number "5" appear between the stripes at its top. Looking at its bottom side, it appears that its core is indeed made of wood, with a tough white plastic outer coating. Unlike sirbowmore's example, this one has obviously been used and now bears numerous dings and scratches to show it. I don't mind that a bit -- I've been wanting a bowling pin in my collection for some time now anyway (just to sit around someplace looking fun?!) and this one qualifies nicely... ;-) :-)
My kind THANKS to jscott0363, officialfuel, Brunswick, fortapache, mackeemackee, & buckethead for stopping by and tapping the <love it> button for my "new" bowling pin! :-) :-) :-)
