I'm guessing this pair of old pencils probably dates from the 1950's. Both found separately over the years, they are basically identical except that they've been (by hand, with a knife) sharpened on their opposite ends. They are 3/8" diameter and just under 7" long, advertising "JIM BEAM 86 Proof" (in red) in the middle, "BEAM BOTTLED IN BOND 100 Proof" on one end, and "BEAM'S PIN BOTTLE WITH EXCLUSIVE BUILT-IN POURER 86.8 Proof -- 8 or 10 Years Old" on the other. The words "World's Finest Bourbon Whisky Since 1795 . Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey" appear in red script under that, then "JAMES B. BEAM DISTILLING CO., CLERMONT, KENTUCKY" in turn below that.
Thanks SO much to Caperkid, Brunswick, jscott0363, officialfuel, fortapache, and buckethead for dropping by and taking a moment to tap the <love it> button!! I've always sorta loved this pair of pencils myself...both because of the nifty way they're oppositely sharpened, and the fact that "my friend Jim" often accompanies me as I visit CW, to discover all the cool stuff that the rest of y'all have shown in any given day or two?!! ;-) :-) ;-) :-) ;-)
