Here is a Factory Produced F4F Wildcat cast Metal Desk Model in its original pre-war "Flash-n-Dash" markings. Wingspan is about 12" long. These were produced using very heavy cast metal from 1938 until 1942. Not many still exist as these became favorite toys for for kids of Navy brass and corporate folks when the design became obsolete. The basic concept was noticed by the Hubley Corporation who eventually created both cast iron and cast pot metal versions of "Navy" and "AAC" fighters. These proved to be very popular up until the company was sold in the 1970's.
Let's remember and never forget those who made their ultimate sacrifices this Memorial Day Weekend.
