This is a wonderful rare piece with a history that I was able to convince a friend to part with (thank you, Patti) - these have been mistaken in the past for similar glass produced by Poschinger and/or Jean Beck, but it's all Loetz, and all wonderful. There are a few places where the threads are missing, but I don't care- I love it just the same. Yellow marbled glass with light brown glass windings and orange opal "berries" applied to the threading. These were made around 1907 for Ludwig Frankel in Berlin and Heinrich Giergl in Budapest. Absolutely stunning! The applied decoration is sublime in its simplicity.
Wow! Love the swirling color and delicate berries. Reminds me of Bittersweet vines and seeds/flowers.

I collect Schneider glass and they did a very similar piece but yours is 18 earlier and apparently the original. Nice!
