In town today so hit a couple of local thrift shops and found this little pot, 4.5" w x 3" h. I am not a big pottery person so only vaguely familiar with a few pottery makers. I found one image of this pot using Google which called it a vintage Ikebana turtle and lotus blossom pot. Had to look Ikebana up on Wikipedia. This pot is numbered P207ST 9H on the bottom, so guessing it is American made? Can anyone tell me about who made this, what it is called, etc.? Thanks!
Actually I think it’s Asian, probably Chinese circa the last 20 years.

I think it is inspired by the Japanese pottery bowls, with a green glaze and figures perched on the upper rim. But the impressed mark is not Asian, so the Western pottery makers might know. It's a really pretty pieces. :-)
Thanks truthordare. I wondered why an Asian maker would use Arabic numerals and the Roman alphabet unless it was maybe meant to deceive.

Recent Chinese pottery is sometimes marked with western markings. In my experience, it’s more common to find western markings than Chinese markings. Often they have western markings and a made in China sticker. They’re produced for import by companies such as Pier 1, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc.

I went to Hobby Lobby and Pier 1 Imports today and looked at hundreds of pieces of pottery and found nothing even remotely similar to how this little pot is marked. Zero of the hundreds of pieces that I looked at had any numbering on the bottoms. At HL the great majority had no markings at all and none had numbers. Just about everything at HL had only a paper/plastic label. At Pier 1 everything had a Pier 1 label and some things also had a Pier 1 mark on the bottom. Many things had only a Pier 1 label and a completely blank bottom. I found no pottery in either place that had the feel of the quality of this pot. Feet were hurting from wearing my vibram Five Fingers on concrete and hard surfaces for an extended period of time, so going to go look at Michaels tomorrow.
I think everything that I looked at today was made in China.
It turns out that Michaels where I live has almost no pottery. They have a few red clay pots for projects but there are not even stickers on them. On the other hand, Jeffrey Alans has beaucoup pottery, all with paper "Made in China" labels and blank bottoms, except for one series of big heavy pots that someone wrote a 7 digit number on in black magic marker. No idea what that was about, but it was obviously done at the store, so I didn't ask about it.
So, no model numbers stamped in pottery at Hobby Lobby, Pier 1, Michaels or Jeffery Alans. Hobby Lobby pottery was almost all junk, Pier 1 some junk, but a lot of nice stuff, too. Jeffrey Alans had mostly really good quality pottery and a bit of junk. All of the pottery I looked at was made in China, with a small amount that did not specify where it was made.
Leaning back toward an American maker of this little pot/bowl but still have not found any clues except for the one listing on ebay that was long enough ago that it can't be found in the completed listings.
