Found this OCTAGON soap box a few years back in Iuka, Mississippi. It is in great shape and has wonderfully antiquated verbiage in the graphics on the side. May date from the 1920s or 30s. I love crates. It’s a wonder any survived being such plentiful, utilitarian things. Maybe somebody used this one for storage through the years just out of necessity. At any rate, its a survivor and a remnant of a time that I can only wonder about.
That's a GREAT old crate, BroncoMan! I also love old wood boxes, and have a (modest) collection of my own, most of which I haven't shown yet. I'll try to work on that?!! ;-) :-) :-)
Yes post your crates. I learn a lot seeing other folks collections. There’s such a variety in crates, there’s always something different to see.
I have the soap and a Vaseline glass soap holder which I have already posted. Glad it survived.
This box came with a single bar of soap in the wrapper. Can’t believe they stayed together through the years.
Great ol' box. BTW....very nice Bronco you have as your profile pic :)
Thanks, buckethead, that’s my ‘76 that my dad left me. We have a lot of fun with it. I’ve loved Broncos for years. Love old crates and advertising too.
