    Hello Everyone.
    Good Evening from Ontario.2-06-2018.
This is 2 of 2 painting from Roy Greenaway that i found on Monday morning at my local thrift shop, i was extremely happy to found both at the same time, the above one is very attractive, but this one his not inscribed the location on the back label, this painting is realistic of a beautiful landscaping.
The third picture show the artist label on the back.

This painting is 27 inches by 23 inches frame, board is 20 inches by 16 inches.

    Many thanks for looking.

For most of his life, Roy Greenaway (1891-1972) was a full-time reporter/photographer for what was then known as the Toronto Daily Star. He was also a prolific painter in his spare time and he was good at it. His works are among the Government of Ontario Art Collection and the City of Toronto Art Collection. Self-taught, he started painting in the 1930s, favouring oil paints. His most common subject matter was Toronto street scenes, but he also painted coastal Quebec scenes, New York City, Venice and England. He also exhibited with the Royal Canadian Academy and the Montreal Society of Artists. Greenaway doesn't yet command huge dollars, but he's a talented and noted artist and his paintings range from $300 to $2,000.
