This piece is probably fashioned from an Imperial Glass #505 goblet. Here is a link with a catalog page which shows this goblet:
http://www.carnivalheaven.com/carnivalglass103/id19.htm.
It is not marked so was made prior to 1951. It is 5 7/8" h x 4 7/8" w. I think I paid $2.99 for it at GW. It is iridescent, not carnival, but my phone camera filters out the sheen and colors in the finish.
Lovely pale blue color & swirly pattern
Fenton hasn't gone out of business but in 2011 stopped making the tradition glass items and shifted to glass jewelry. This item was made by Imperial Glass Company' likely from their extensive NUCUT line but I don't recognize the exact pattern number.
Thanks, TallCakes. I found that McKee and L E Smith also made a similar pattern...
Pattern called Quintec....
Quintec does have a similar hobstar motif but this is not Quintec, which was first made by McKee Bros and reproduced by Smith and others.
I did manage to find on online with the Imperial Glass mark:

Thanks, TallCakes. Wasn't Imperial mostly marked in the glass?
Thanks, TallCakes. I also found a little toothpick with the exact pattern, but the link is no longer good. All of the Nucut that I find is so much heavier and thicker than this piece.... Thanks for your help!
Yep, the one on ebay is definitely it! Thanks!
Imperial Glass did have many maker's mark thru the years but not all of their glass was marked. The superimposed IG mark was introduced on 1951.
because this piece was possibly formed from a goblet the glass was heated and stretched thus making it much thinner. To me it has similarities to #505 Bellaire/Octagon but is a simpler pattern with fewer of the motifs included than in 505.
Thanks! My glass eye (no pun intended) is definitely rusty. Looks like this was a very popular pattern for toothpick holders.
that's it... it is fashioned from a 505 goblet. here's a link with a catalog page:

yes, 505 was a very popular and widely reissued pattern for Imperial. It was first introduced as #505 Bellaire in 1912 and likely made up the their final closing in 1984.
Sweet! Thanks!
