We have a very unique lamp that we've had for as long as I can remember. Mom says it's nothing special; she bought it at the same time as she bought a Heritage side table at John M Smythe and company in Chicago back in the 70's
It's a pretty solid lamp. It's 45" high total, 21" high for the lamp base itself. The figurines each are about 9" high and are made of either ceramic or porcelain. The detail is wonderful. We've always referred to it as the Four muses lamp since it appears that the four women are each involved in some art.
I can't find any markings to identify a maker. Has anyone seen anything like this? I'm wondering what the story is for the lamp, if it has some history. Or if there is truly nothing special about it, other than the fun and whimsical design and tons of memories growing up.
Gorgeous lamp, the muses are so beautifully sculpted & colored, and love the arbor design
I have the exact same lamp. My grandparents had it and it was in the background of an old photo of me in 1960. Does anyone have an idea of how much, if any, of the value of this lamp?
