Student glass?

This sturdy little jug/vase is probably another piece of student work from the glass program at Illinois State University. It is about 6 1/4" h 4 1/4 w and probably weighs 4-5 pounds. When I first saw it, I thought it looked like a Viking Glass green, but when I handled it I became pretty certain it is not Viking. It is an odd little maybe experimental piece, I think. It is ground flat on one side so that it can easily rest on that side on a flat surface. Perhaps there is a practical reason for this, or maybe it is whimsical. There is the remains of a bit of the sprue that has not been ground off on the bottom and quite a bit of random scratching which makes me think it has some age to it. I am trying to reach John Miller who runs the glass program at ISU to see if they ever acquired glass blanks from the same source that Viking did, which might help to date it. Of course it is not signed.
