This 2" silvertone starfish brooch has a curved shape, with alternating sapphire & smoke blue rhinestone chatons framing five blue AB marquise stones in a cupped or raised design, by Gustave Sherman (1947-1981)
Sorry pix a bit dark, had to avoid mirror glare from the AB stones
Thanks Ken for the great compliments esp on these photos, it's a pretty brooch but the central ABs dominate the nice blues so I had to carefully keep it from direct light
So grateful for the kind loves everyone

I love the huge amount of claws on the larger stones, THATS quality !~
Glad you liked my Sherman starfish Phil, I tried not to let the AB stones overpower it, and yes I agree the prong setting is excellent
Thanks so much for the love

Oh, goodness. Just seeing this, as I came back to see if Dawnlady1 posted tonight. Super beautiful style and colour, Jenni.
Hi Daisy,
Just caught your comment before signing off, thank you for the lovely compliments/love for this Sherman starfish, glad someone finally brought it back up again & you got to see it. I LOVE your post with the different Sherman starfish, this blue one has a lot of AB so you'll notice I underlit the photos so the blue would show up better. I love all ocean designs, well I guess you can tell from my profile pic lol
Thank you Searching for the love for this Sherman starfish, I really love his work but as most are sold from Canada, I think I'd better wait til after the holidays to be sure they don't get lost in the Christmas mail siege :)
So pretty. I must find one for myself. I call the many prongs “French claws” another collector refers to them a sweater rippers,, (LOL) either way they are fantastic and part of the beauty of this brooch!
Thank you Dawn for the lovely praise for this Sherman starfish, yes indeed it has awesome claws & you can be sure those stones will never fall out!! I had a trying time photographing this piece as the all AB stones were mirror reflective, it took alot of low lighting to bring out the beautiful blue
Thank you rhineisfine & Searching for the love for this Sherman starfish, very glad you both liked it and very grateful for your thoughtfulness
Thank you DejaVu for the love for this Sherman starfish, so pleased that you liked it and grateful for your thoughtfulness
