I picked up this Victorian photo album at an auction years ago, and was touched by all of the family notes that someone maybe Martha? had bothered to write in the margins. I was able to do a little research and found a Martha Virginia Topping born in 1886 in Phoebus, Virginia, died May 1965 in Pennsylvania. Most of the photos that are cards seem to come from that area as well. Most are cardboard cabinet card types, at least 4 or 5 are on metal. Photos are not my forte so I was hoping that someone would be able to look at the pnes Ive posted and give me a date range for when they might have been taken? Ill put them up in 2 or more posts so I can give a good range of what I think are the older and younger ones.
Two other things of interest, one of the photos is of a young woman who appears to have a different or mixed ethnicity, and some of the ohotos are of the same person taken at different ages in life so you can see them as teenagers to adults
Some of these may be Civil War era. If you add some photos of the full card and back-- I'd be happy to date them for you.
The first two are nicely tinted. The woman's photo may be a copy view of an earlier image.

Ok I will try to remove them from the album, if I can do it without damaging it further. Its not in the best of condition unfortunately
