    I found this while metal detecting, it looks electrical. Id like to know what it is if anybody can help, it says Donn Peterlee 1981

      This is the top half of a (usually) British miner's lantern. There would be a base at the bottom of the 4 long rods and a glass cylinder enclosing the space between the two halves.

      Top part of a Davy lamp. Used for gas detection when working underground.
