This story starts with the Houston Museum Of Art, and a collection of glass donated to them by the Cullens. It contained several pieces of Czech glass, and had been researched by Jan Mergl, the familiar name in the Passau Museum Series of Volumes titled Bohemian Glass.

The first image shows a beautiful red and black glass handled vase, this vase in blue glass also happens to be at the Berlin Art Museum, and it was attributed to A. Ruckl. The second image is from a friend's collection, and has great similarities to the first piece. My friend also had documentation to show his pieces were produced by WMF in Germany under decor name Ikora, who were better know for their decorative metalware. During the 1920s they started a new glass decor, which seems to have been inspired by Loetz tango glass of the same period, WMF had two glass lines called Myra and Ikora in production till the late 1920s.

The advertisement from WMF contains both of the vases with and without the handles, set on black glass foot rests. with several sizes. This would mean the Berlin museum has a German WMF piece, not a Ruckl glass piece in their exhibits.

Last image is my attentive family, who have to listen to this glass talk when they don't hide in their own comfy den.

Beautiful glass vases all. The best photo to me however are your two gorgeous dogs sitting so contentedly with you - the golden retriever looks ready for his closeup!
