I'm dying to know what this is ! Too bad we can't get emails on comments anymore.
It appears to be an "RPM" measuring tool -- one holds the pointy end against something which is turning, then reads how quickly (in some given period of time) the numbers on its dial pass by the pointer. Looks like an older one, too?!
Put "machinist's speed indicator" into Google and you'll find pics/info of similar tools -- hope this helps! :-)
Wha a ting ! Should have guessed it right off ! (tongue n cheek).
Wow ! Thank you !
Very Good !
Happy to help! :-)
Mechanical rev counter. Should have a replaceable/removable rubber tip which is held against a rotating shaft and timed with a stop watch.
Thank you Onedtent for info.
