You know how some days a little voice says, "You MUST go to this op shop/thrift store"...well, to be honest, every day is like that, but sometimes it's a touch more urgent. And it has to be one shop in particular, because it seems to be sending out "vibes". Okay, that's what happened to me yesterday...& my obedience to that little voice was richly rewarded by this fabulous pair of vases.
Made from black glass, they have thin orange stripes from top to bottom, & a "bottom - up" spatter in shades of orange & yellow (as an extra bonus, the light yellow spots contain uranium & glow under UV light).
They measure 25.2 cm tall, 7.7 cm across the top rim, & 7 cm across the base.
    Czech of course!
And the finds did not stop there...replete with vitreous goodness, I then proceeded to browse the clothing, where I found two brand new, unworn, velvet blazers, in a brand I knew to be rather expensive (having purchased something new by the same label, I knew what they would have originally cost) for a bargain price. Why would you want to buy anything new, I ask you? :-)

These would be Kralik spots and stripes. See? I have learnt stuff here on CW! I think there are some similar posted, and I remember them because I had one at one stage.

Nice one with the jackets, such a handsome lad you will continue to be!

I was thinking to be alone with this feeling, I think you got it too.
Nice intuition and glass of course.

racer, CW is a most informative place, isn't it? This is my first example of this decor, too! And thanks for the compliment! I will have to do a fashion shoot to show off the new threads (I hit another op shop after this & found some jeans, also new with tag & correct size so I'm all kitted out)...

      Alan, I think it's a gift that us collectors are blessed with...psychic thrift-vision! :-)

Cheers MALKEY, it was great to find these, I had not got anything like them before & now starting to revive my Tango glass section after selling off most of it...this was an inspiration!

Thanks also, sklo42, it is a fab decor & my first one. They are now sitting atop an Art Deco cabinet on a linen doily embroidered with orange geometric designs & feeling most at home...

It pays to listen to that little voice-- great pair of vases!

That shape is not very common, must some Australia special Czech glass imports. Beautiful pieces and even more impressive to have the pair. This is one of the decors I have been studying and potentially applied to Ruckl as well, due to many other shapes which share Ruckl decors. This type of colorful application is called 'line and spots' by another collector. It can vary in colors, and reversed single color spatter on top instead of bottom. Thanks for posting IL.

Most interesting, truthordare...perhaps we did get some different pieces here...now that I am back on buying Tango glass after a long break I will possibly unearth some more...

Thanks IL, I'm sure you will. Makes it interesting for all of us here. :-)
