I was given this pin from someone that would make me believe this is a WW2/Korean War era pin. It is just under 1/2" in diameter. I have searched every term I could think of to find one just like it online with no luck. An "expert" I spoke with had no clue. I don't have any plans to sell it. I just want to learn more about it. I don't believe it is a "blue star" pin in the traditional sense, but I could be wrong.

Any help identifying it would be appreciated.

I think that this is a vintage version of an Honorable Discharge button. Post dates WW2 and the "ruptured duck" version.

I have seen similar lapel pins-- usually with "Honorable Discharge".

Appears to be a tie tack. One of various designs of the U.S. Army during that time period.

Thank you for your comments. I am sure it's some kind of lapel button. It has a pin style fastener rather than a post, if that makes sense. I still cannot find one like it online.

Here is a link to the SIMILAR ones that I have seen:

      https://www.google.com/search?q=us+navy+vintage+honorable+discharge&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS703US703&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi5q_LL0uXbAhVsxFkKHQqTDAUQsAQIKA&biw=1242&bih=602

Most are US Navy, but your pin has similar characteristics and is most likely from the same era.
