The first one is a very large 8 inch tile and the second is a 6 inch tile. i think they are both california tiles. i found them in a new little vintage shop in downtown oakland - called - Urban Eclectic. i couldn't believe it when i got them both for $25! the larger one is in perfect condition and the smaller one is in near perfect. anyone care to guess the maker? Malibu? Taylor? ??

I'll venture a guess that the smaller one was made by D&M, but that's just a "usual suspect" for that sort of surface. It can be dizzying trying to sort out some of these tile patterns but a good reference site if you want to try - http://www.caltiles.com/

thanks Newfld and artfoot! i think that they are both D&M tiles. i think the 8 inch one is really great.
