I love the medieval legend of St George slaying the dragon to save the princess, and here are two interpretations. The vintage 60s goldtone Kenneth Jay Lane necklace shows a rhinestone clad knight spearing the dragon with his coral tipped lance, riding a green eyed horse. The 2" pendant is fully formed all around & hangs from a foot long ropey golden chain. The 9" cobalt blue glass plate has a golden abstract St George slaying the dragon design, it was the 1972 annual plate by Kosta Boda of Sweden
Great Glass !!,!!

Ken thanks so much for liking both of my St George pieces & very kind compliments, the KJL pendant is supposedly an almost exact copy of a DeNicola design, both really rare nowadays & again I got lucky

Hi Jenni cracking item, stunning cobalt blue and great detail. I only found out this morning that St. George, our patron saint, was a Roman or modern day Turkish.
Every day's a learning day. Neil
Thanks Neil for the great informative comment & compliments! I know that St George is popular in many countries, though the story about him slaying the dragon may just be legend not fact (so says wiki)
Wow! I love the Scandinavian design of the plate and the pendant is so unusual and beautiful! What a great pairing!
Isn't this a cool Viking type design plate, thanks for enjoying both Laura, for the great compliments & luv
This is a stunning piece! And like you I adore the legend of St George too. I have to say, trying to avoid sounding all weird that St George is my favourite saint- and I'm not even a religious person. :P
I do also believe that not only is he the patron saint of England and Georgia but also Greece too? So much more interesting than St Patrick....(The patron saint where I live)
Lauren thanks so much for the great compliment & informative comment, I didn't know St George was patron saint to so many countries & you spurred me to check the internet & I found some more - Portugal, Lithuania and Ethiopia too, wow he's popular! Don't you think the story about St Patrick driving all the snakes out of Ireland is pretty cool though
Haha- Yes I do think St Patrick is interesting too, that and the fact he first started life being kidnapped by pirates in Wales, or France as a young boy? Tough start in life, but St George to me, with his fantastical battle against a dragon is definitely my favourite!
Thanks so much Mary, glad you liked this combo & appreciate the love
