My husband and I just purchased our first home. While unpacking I stumbled across this glass pitcher in a cabinet. Ii is blue and white and has a tavern drinking scene on one side, and a scene of a man on a horse on the other. On the bottom is a hand painted name that just says Edwards. I have been trying to research the makers mark and have had no luck. However I did find a picture on ebay of the exact same pitcher. It was a reproduction and had a stamp on the bottom that said 18th century europe. The blue was much more vivid than on mine and the stamp on the bottom had actually been stamped into the porcelin where as mine is hand painted. I think it is a very pretty piece and would really like to know the history of it, or if it is another reproduction. I am also curious as to whether or not it's has any value.
Hi...this is so crazy. I, too, am searching for info on the exact piece you have! Mine has a beautiful pear green color in the background. Mine has no kind of marking on it. I picked it up at a flea market for $2.00 and I was just curious as to who made it and if it was worth anything. Let me know if you find out anything on yours. I also have pottery with carved 'Edwards' into the bottom. Mine is pretty simple compared to yours. I have not be able to find info on 'Edwards' either.
I have two cookie jars, one large and one small, with this pattern on it. Check my listings for the larger cookie jar. I assumed it was some sort of mold being used since the larger one has a mark and the smaller one has none. Purchased each separately and the color scheme is different on both. Interesting...
I just bought the pitcher and basin same pattern just says Hope on bottom carved in.???????
I have the same thing but it's all white. With a flat bottom no stamp or Edwards on it.
these are hobby ceramic mold items. I have the same pitcher hat I made back in the early 1970s. Only I made it in a darker green. It's maybe in a box in the attic somewhere as I haven't seen it in years.
