These came from the post office my mother-in-law had in her home for 20 years, in a small town in Washington. My grandfather delivered the mail to the post office for 48 years.

Nice! Thats a beauty! Whatever you do, dont let anybody chop it up to sell them individually. If you dont have the combinations, you should be able to stick your hand in through the back to unlatch the boxes, and then you should be able to figure out the combinations by watching how the pins align.
By the way, these look like Eagle Lock Co. cast brass (or bronze) doors, circa 1896, Page 104 in Jane's book.
oh wish i had the room for something like that.will have to settle for a chopped up one if I ever find one.
