I found two of these little Henriot Quimper marked bowls in a thrift shop in Leroy, IL for $.25 each today. They measure a bit over 3.5" in diameter by 2.25" tall. They are the most unassuming pieces of Quimper pottery I have seen. Everything about them is uneven, shape, glaze, surface, etc. Made 1928-65, based on the mark.

I wonder if they are a type of 'cafe au lait' hand held bowl. These are traditional in France for breakfast, half hot coffee and hot milk, drunk from a small bowl, held between your hands. Or some are for warm cider too. Love it.

My pottery mark reference book says 1928 to 1965 or so, for this type of Quimper signature. 82 could be a production number.

Thanks for the insights and comments truthordare. They both have small cracks inside the bowls, possibly from having hot liquid poured into them.

Thanks for the loves truthordare, aura, vetraoi50, fortapache and Newfld!

This was an interesting study and fun for me, for Quimper, which I was only slightly aware of. So Thank you.

I have seen bowls similar to these, but not with all one color and a tan color. If you got them for $0.25 each you stole them. I would have paid $20 each for them because they are different and not the standard patter or look of Quimper.

Thanks for your comment, roverman94! I'll stick them in my china cabinet!
